Most of us feel lost without our morning cup of coffee. It’s an important part of your morning ritual. You wake up, get out of bed, and sit down to enjoy a cup of coffee in peace before the rush of the day begins. CBD can make your zen ritual a little more special.

If you already use CBD in the morning, why not infuse CBD oil into your coffee? Here’s how to craft the perfect CBD oil latte for a smooth, calm start to your day.

Why Infuse CBD Oil Into Your Coffee?

You don’t need to put CBD oil in coffee or any other beverage if you don’t want to. You can use it straight from the bottle, with or without something to eat or drink.

There are a few reasons why people prefer to put CBD in coffee or another beverage. If you don’t like the way CBD oil tastes or if you’re looking to enhance your morning cup, CBD and coffee might be a perfect pair.

To Disguise the Taste of CBD Oil

CBD oil tastes like hemp, which has a very earthy, nutty flavor. Plenty of people can appreciate the unique natural flavor of CBD, but others don’t care for it so much.

People who would prefer to avoid the flavor of CBD entirely find that mixing it into a sweetened food or drink, like a latte, completely masks the earthy flavor. You can enjoy the benefits of CBD in a tasty way.

To Create a Balanced Latte

CBD has naturally soothing properties. Most people find that CBD works to support a calm mood. Caffeine can do the opposite, energizing you and lighting up the alertness centers in your brain.

The idea behind combining CBD with coffee is that the effects can balance each other. Many people who make CBD-infused lattes feel that the final effect is a feeling of balanced alertness that leaves them feeling perked up without feeling jittery

If you’re truly sensitive to the effects of caffeine, it’s better to drink decaf. If you’d just like a more mellow experience from your morning cup, CBD can help to create that experience.

How Can I Infuse CBD Oil in My Coffee?

If you put CBD oil drops into a cup of black coffee, they’re just going to sit on the top. The oil will always float up and separate, no matter how well you stir them together. Oil will only blend with things that contain fat, which can also help your body absorb CBD.

You can make a CBD coffee creamer to mix CBD oil in coffee properly. The process is very simple. All you need is a creamer base that contains enough fat to blend with CBD oil.

Choosing Your Creamer Base

Many plant-based milk alternatives won’t work. Low-fat alternatives such as almond, cashew, and rice milk likely won’t lead to a great CBD latte any more than water.

Dairy milk, half and half, and cream will work. If you need a vegan or lactose-free alternative, soy and coconut milk may work. Stay away from low-fat milk — the more fat, the better for absorption!

Do a Little Math

Let’s peek at how much creamer you normally put in your coffee — serving size and dosage are very important.

The label on your CBD bottle should tell you how much CBD is in the bottle. Divide that amount by the number of servings (usually 30) to determine how much CBD is in a dropper.

If you have 1,500 mg CBD oil, each dropper should contain 50 mg of CBD. If you want your latte to contain 25 mg of CBD, one dropper is enough for two servings of coffee creamer.

How much creamer do you use to make two cups of coffee? Make yourself a cup and add creamer by the tablespoon until it tastes perfect. Keep track of how much creamer you used.

If you know that you use three tablespoons of creamer per cup, then you know that you should add one dropper of CBD for every six tablespoons of creamer. Now, you have all the information you need to make a perfect batch of CBD creamer!

Making CBD Coffee Creamer

Pour your desired amount of milk or plant-based milk into a small pot or saucepan and add the appropriate amount of CBD. Turn the heat on low, and let it simmer for about five minutes.

If you want to sweeten it to make your creamer, you can add your sweetener of choice. Honey is an excellent choice and will add rich flavor to your latte. You can also use plant-based sweeteners like stevia or plain table sugar if you prefer to keep things simple.

Stir continuously for five more minutes to incorporate all of your ingredients. If you use honey or a nectar-based sweetener, it’s important to stir thoroughly enough to melt and incorporate your sweetener fully.

Turn off the heat and let your creamer cool to room temperature — this part is essential! If you try to put warm milk directly into the fridge, it can turn sour or curdle.

A little patience will keep you from messing with your hard work. Transfer it into a mason jar or a refrigerator-safe container with a lid. Refrigerate it and use it within a week.

If you have children or roommates, you should be careful about how you store your CBD creamer. You don’t want someone to mistake it for regular milk.

Make sure the container is clearly labeled. If you have young children, place it on the highest shelf of the fridge to keep it out of reach.

Is There Another Way To Add CBD to Coffee?

If you make your coffee drinks in a blender, you can add your creamer first. Put your CBD into the blender with your milk and blend them for 30 seconds.

If you have a milk frothing machine, you can put the CBD into the frother with your milk and use the warming setting to help integrate the CBD. Of course, this method only makes sense if you’re drinking hot coffee. There’s no sense in heating milk for an iced latte!

This method works in a pinch and makes for a super creamy and frothy beverage, but it can also be time-consuming. Think about the time you’d spend making it this way every day.

But if rituals are your thing, folding this method into your morning ritual can add a little magic to your day.

How Can I Make a CBD Latte?

All you need to do to make a CBD latte is add your CBD-infused creamer into your regular coffee. You can combine it with hot coffee, espresso, cold brew, iced coffee, or even homemade blended coffee drinks.

You can also add it to tea. Try a CBD chai latte when you’re in the mood to spice things up.

If you like to use your CBD at night, add it to a soothing cup of caffeine-free chamomile or herbal sleepytime tea. Sip on it while you relax and read a good book.

If you feel like skipping coffee, you can use a serving of your CBD creamer in your cereal or oatmeal. You can use it in any recipe that calls for milk and sweetener or sweetened milk.
